Service

A company that employs foreign nationals in Nigeria must hold the necessary business permit and expatriate quota approval from the Federal Ministry of Interior. Each expatriate also needs the correct visa and residence permit from the Nigeria Immigration Service before taking up employment. Since 1 May 2025, these processes run through an online Expatriate Administration System, with electronic CERPAC processing and stricter review of applications.
We manage the full process for employers, from the first application to renewals and eventual exit. We also recruit and deploy qualified Nigerian professionals for project and contract roles.
Delays in immigration approvals hold up projects, and errors can lead to penalties or the removal of staff. Employers must also meet continuing obligations. These include monthly expatriate returns, the training of Nigerian understudies (the current rules require at least two qualified understudies for each expatriate role) and correct PAYE deductions on expatriate pay.
Our Managing Partner leads a resourcing team that has deployed local and expatriate professionals for major telecoms operators and equipment vendors in Nigeria. We understand the timelines that project-based businesses face.
We treat each employer's expatriate programme as a managed cycle with a single point of contact.

We combine immigration, tax and payroll work under one team. The tax position of each expatriate is settled while the permits are processed, so problems at renewal or exit are avoided.
Our expiry tracker gives HR advance notice of every renewal. We also apply our own experience of deploying professionals on telecoms projects, where start dates are fixed and delays are costly.
Timelines depend on the completeness of the application and the Ministry's review. We give you an estimate after the needs assessment and track progress weekly.
